S Eric Ryan, MDFounder and CEO
Prior to founding Provisio in 2014, Dr. Ryan was a senior executive at Volcano Corporation (acquired by Philips Healthcare), the leading IVUS company, where he served as Global Head of Clinical, Medical, and Scientific Affairs. He previously served as the founding Chief Technology Officer of InfraReDx, an intravascular imaging company acquired by the Japanese company Nipro. He has also served in a consulting role for a number of both major and early-stage companies, including assuming acting medical director or CMO roles in public medtech and biotech companies. In total, Dr. Ryan has nearly 20 years of experience in the medtech industry and is an inventor on numerous patents within the field.
Dr. Ryan earned his Medical Doctorate with honors at the University of Kentucky School of Medicine and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a degree focus on scientific applications from the University of Kentucky College of Engineering.View bio
Paul DavisonVP, Research & Development
Mr. Davison joined Provisio Medical in January of 2018 as Vice President of Product Development. He has more than 30 years of medical device industry experience and has been involved with the development and commercialization of 29 devices. Before joining Provisio, Mr. Davison was Vice President of Research and Development at Invuity (IVTY) from November 2014 to July 2017, where he was part of the executive team during the 2015 IPO. Prior to joining Invuity (now Stryker), Mr. Davison held a number of executive positions including Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Energy SBU at CONMED Corporation, and Vice President of Research and Development of PEAK Surgical, an advanced energy company with an innovative product called the PlasmaBlade ® that was acquired by Medtronic. Prior to PEAK Surgical, Mr. Davison served as the R&D Director for Sports Medicine at ArthroCare, and before that held various project management and engineering roles at Medtronic and Baxter Healthcare.
Mr. Davison is an inventor on thirteen issued US patents, five of which are for medical devices currently on the market. He holds a B.S. in Manufacturing and Engineering from California Polytechnic University at Pomona, and an M.S. in Engineering Management with a Mechanical Engineering stem from Santa Clara University, where he is currently a Bioengineering Advisory Board Member and previously adjunct faculty.View bio
David GoodmanVP, Global Marketing
Mr. Goodman joined Provisio Medical in November of 2018 as Director, Peripheral Vascular Marketing. He has more than 27 years of medical device industry experience. Prior to joining Provisio, Mr. Goodman was responsible for Global Market Development at Penumbra. Before Penumbra, Mr. Goodman was Associate Director, Global Market Development at Philips Volcano; primarily responsible for Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) in the peripheral vascular market. Prior to Volcano, Mr. Goodman held various positions in market development, training and education for Trivascular (now Endologix) and Medtronic. Mr. Goodman has also had positions in upstream and downstream marketing, product development, sales, quality assurance and manufacturing for companies such as Intuitive Surgical, Nellcor Puritan & Bennett (now Medtronic), Ethicon Endo Surgery and Ethicon, Inc. (both Johnson & Johnson companies). Mr. Goodman holds a B.S. in Applied Sciences in Engineering from Rutgers University.View bio
Ken McDonnellHead, Finance and Business Development
Mr. McDonnell joined Provisio’s Board in November 2016, and in January 2019 took on the role of Head of Finance and Business Development. From 2005 until 2016, Mr. McDonnell served as the General Manager, Business Development for the Terumo Corporation. Prior to joining Terumo, he held senior management positions at several ventures addressing large, underserved medical conditions such as the intravascular identification of atherosclerotic “vulnerable plaques” (Infraredx); ultra-high speed ultrasound imaging for the early detection of myocardial impairment (Diasonics Vingmed, now GE); screening for hearing loss in newborns (Natus Medical); and oxygen saturation monitoring for the prevention of peri-operative hypoxemia (Nellcor). Mr. McDonnell began his medical device career with Corning Medical and Scientific.
Current and past board positions include Provisio Medical, MicroVention (Terumo), US-Japan Medtech Frontiers, Enterprise Ireland LifeSciences Advisory Council, and Terumo Medical Innovations. Mr. McDonnell received a B.S. Human Biology from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington.View bio
